Discover the Joy of Riding Honolulu’s New Skyline Train!
Honolulu’s newest way to travel, the Skyline train, is here to make getting around Oʻahu a breeze! Whether you’re a seasoned commuter or hopping on a train for the first time, Skyline is safe, speedy, and simple to use. Let’s dive into everything you need to know!
All Aboard! What You’ll Need
Ready to ride? Grab your HOLO card, the same one you use for TheBus. Just tap your card on the reader at the station entrance to get started. You can even load money onto your card at convenient HOLO vending machines right by the station gates.
Riding the Rails Made Easy
Once you tap in, the gates will open, and you’re free to board the next train. How much you pay depends on your HOLO card type, but here’s a sweet deal: your fare includes a 2.5-hour transfer window. That means you can hop between trains or onto TheBus without extra charges during that time!
Where Will Skyline Take You?
Skyline’s journey across Oʻahu is just beginning! Here’s a glimpse of what’s open now and what’s coming:
- Segment 1 & 2 (Now Open): Travel from Kualakaʻi East Kapolei all the way to Kahauiki Middle Street – Kalihi Transit Center. This expanded route connects West O‘ahu, Pearl Harbor, and Kalihi, serving commuters and explorers alike!
- Segment 3 (Arriving 2031): Extending from Mokauea Kalihi to Kaʻākaukukui Civic Center, making travel even more convenient!

How Much Does It Cost?
Skyline fares are the same as TheBus. Plus, with HOLO card fare capping, you won’t spend more than the cost of a day pass no matter how many rides you take.
Train Schedule
| Operating Time | Train Frequency |

- A full ride from Kualakaʻi East Kapolei to Kahauiki Middle Street takes approximately 32 minutes.
